Expanded Meta Snapshot — Pokemon
The Expanded market is looking pretty wild this week, with sealed products absolutely dominating the top spots. We're seeing some massive swings on individual cards though, especially with older delta species cards making moves. The market feels like it's in one of those "everything's all over the place" phases.
Top Staples
Evolving Skies Booster Box Case ($14,847) — Still the king of the hill. This set just keeps climbing because everyone wants those alt arts, and sealed cases are getting harder to find.
Gym Challenge/Heroes Booster Boxes ($14k/$11k) — Classic WOTC sealed that's basically untouchable now. These boxes are museum pieces at this point, and collectors know it.
Team Up Booster Box ($10,778) — Tag Team cards are still super relevant in Expanded play. Plus this set has some absolute bangers that people actually need for decks.
151 Products (various cases $4k-$10k) — The nostalgia factor is real. Everyone wants their childhood favorites, and these products delivered exactly what people wanted.
Shining Tyranitar ($4,250) — One of the original chase cards that started the whole "shiny Pokemon" craze. This thing's basically Pokemon history in card form.
Movers This Week
Metagross ★ ($1,562, +10.6%) picked up some serious steam this week. The delta species cards have been quietly gaining ground, and this one finally broke out. Probably just collectors realizing how rare these actually are.
Charizard δ ($501, -61.8%) got absolutely hammered. This is a huge drop for such an expensive card. Could be someone dumping their collection, or maybe the market finally decided it was overpriced. Either way, ouch.
The biggest losers list is mostly filled with newer commons and energy cards that probably had inflated prices from low supply. Rainbow Energy from World Championship Decks dropping 99.8% to $0.15 is pretty typical for these kinds of corrections.
Most of the other big drops are from Surging Sparks and newer sets where the initial hype is wearing off. Cards like Capsakid and Kilowattrel going to basically zero just means the market found their real value.
What to Watch
Keep an eye on those delta species cards — if Metagross ★ is moving, the rest might follow. The whole delta series has been undervalued for a while, and collectors are starting to notice. Also watch for any more big sealed product movements, since those cases are what's really driving the high-end market right now.
